a lot of the other stuff in his quotes are fair enough. but that's a fucking weird idea, outside the general "boys should pick themselves by their bootstraps, more." not fair to boys. not fair to girls. he's one of the lads who made it, whatever his own hardships with blindness/poverty, does he not know blokes who didn't? would he be saying this sort of thing to the mates he lost in life?
