people get like that as teenagers, they get irritated by literally everything except a very narrow window of interests popular with the other brats they met at school, they wouldn't be seen dead with a "loser", he probably resents the fact that as a dumb kid he didn't realize what a failure you are and how you tricked him into thinking you're a normal good person
