No, it wasn't to me, but I don't remember enough about the thread to hunt it down. And that's more a reasonable expression of your thoughts. For this situation I have cognitive empathy (I understand on a literal level their perspective) but less affective empathy (unless they had specific and/or recent personal experience it did kind of seem overreactionary). My lack of the latter was also due to kind of disliking them honestly. They had a lot of weird takes on things and bent over backwards to have excessively harsh, unsubstantiated criticisms to make about basically everyone.
