He's forced to do what he does, according to him, but he's absolutely not happy. He once got a bit drunk at an outing and admitted he didn't want to marry or have kids and only did it because his wife wanted that stuff. My guess is he was afraid of ending up alone because of his looks, which made him accept whatever his wife wanted out of him. I'd absolutely want to rope if I was him, or I'd at least try to think of how to extract myself from that situation, even tho he's completely screwed in case of a divorce. All I can do is listen to him and learn from his mistakes. I was thinking recently of how I've never actually wanted to marry or have kids. But now, I'm scared shitless of ever ending up like him. Fortunately with my stubborn but introverted/avoidant personality, my chances are low.
