In the original Greek it says "theos" not "ho theos" - that means it isn't "The Word is God" but "The Word is like God." It says Jesus is godlike, but is not actually the same as God the father. I mean think about it, in the next part it says "the Word was with God." If the Word was God, how can it also be with God?

Thomas sees Jesus as his "lord" (master), and refers to God (the Father) as "my God", not necessarily calling Jesus both.

The "true God" here is God the Father, consistent with other Johannine usage of "the one who is true." Therefore, this verse affirms God through Jesus, not Jesus as God.

Already did this one. It's Jesus claiming he was foretold in scripture, not claiming he was divine.
