They way it was put to me by the audiologist was "Tinnitus likes to be the loudest thing in the room" The hearing aids are a distraction for the brain so it doesnt take up so much attention, it's like shutting a door on your perception of music coming from another room. They do work, and i recommend asking your GP to put in a referral, there's not a long wiaiting list for this either. The aids are lightweight, hardly visible and batteries and main are free and the bluetooth app is v good, remembers your setting and preferences, you can change the HZ cycle and all that stuff, tune it into what is really comfortable for you.
