i've never been too social but as a nerd i had my uses. my female acquaintances were the only ones who would ask for help with every little thing at school and at work. i didn't even simp or anything, barely talked to them outside of that, just helped and moved on. guys hardly asked for help, probably a combination of pride, competence and consideration.

you could say i got used but it wasn't really valuable time, i'll just say women do indeed keep male friends for pragmatic reasons. someone to fix their stuff, maybe even pay for something, etc.
