It's a joke but you just gotta plug away at it lad. If you have the degree and experience then someone will want it.
For me it was going through recruitment agencies as they are basically insufferable vultures. They apply you for every fucking job they can find (even if you're not suitable) and if you tell them "this wage is the bare minimum" then maybe it'll sort them out. Scattershot worked for me basically.
No idea though, I've been in my job too long to tell the current state. My job was the first one that said yes to me and I just took it and stayed there forever. People that used to work for us changed jobs for mad money, but I'm more than "comfortable" so I don't care enough to chase every last quid.
You can make it work though if you live that cheap life. I didn't even drive as I moved close to where the work was in that cheap houseshare and I walked everywhere. Even if it was a 1 hour walk I'd do it. On your wage I'd break it down like I did before and just try to set limits that mean I save *something* and as you get more dough then you just save even more if you keep living cheap.
