Well I chose the title because I thought that improving their vocabulary and attention span (among other things) would bring them closer to humanity. I didn't think they'd turn into geniuses but it's a nice first step. If they stuck with it and started reading other books on the side because they discovered that they might enjoy reading then there's a chance they'd actually end up very knowledgeable on a lot of things (especially by branching from fiction, to reading a lot of non-fiction).

Also the title is much better than "r9k book club". It feels more important and gives them a reason to actually try reading a book instead of just being like

Thank you, and yes I think the same way. I generally have a pessimistic outlook so I'm never disappointed
