>I'm sure a lot of people would branch out to what interests them the most
But reading text-books is very different than indulging on the fantasy of a fiction novel; and often less engaging. I can see some people go for history, though, desu; it being stories.
>I just said that was the outcome I was expecting if people actually read and followed along the threads
"One robot at a time, maybe we can make a change in the long run" is phrased in a very hopeful way in my eyes. But maybe it was just an attempt at engaging writing.
>I'm just not optimistic about the survival chances of this general or whatevs
I get it. But you have hope that it'll work, otherwise you wouldn't have come up with a plan.
>I mix my pessimism with not caring about the results
You must care a little bit, or else you wouldn't have posted this thread to begin with.
But I get it, you're ambivalent about whether or not the plan will work or gain traction.
I hope you'll gain a small dedicated fallowing and have fun reading books and improving the lives and minds of your fellow anons, making a community or whatever*.

*But you'll never untard them with books alone. The path to being untarded is long and requires effort and a will to change you'd be hard pressed to find on /r9k/. I've read books and studied and I'm still a 4chan retard who posts until the sun comes up.
