I would only adopt a kid if I met the biological mother while she was pregnant and took the baby at birth. Kids in the adoption system are damaged goods, and you're spending their whole lives overcoming various behavioral issues caused by their abandonment. It's really sad to see, but it's not for me. Of course, my preference is to have my own biological children, passing on genes in a valid reason for having kids. I don't care if it's selfish.
