Regarding old English, "beseech" comes from "beseek" which means "search for". Old Latin however is where "implore" is found as "in-ploro", meaning "cry out, intensely". The "in-" prefix is an intensifier, as used in "in-testify". These two words DO NOT mean the same thing, and they ARE NOT even close to synonyms.
