Anonymity. I think you're mistaken, you think I'm here for a boyfriend... that is not the case.

>No normal person will hold it against you if you're working poor
Sorry, I didn't explain myself properly. It's not the poverty that people would avoid talking to me because. It is the things that come along with my unique kind of poverty. It is embarrassing to explain that I don't have running water or that I live in a place where not everyone is connected to the power. People start to think you're very alien and too different to have conversion with.

I like talking with people who share my interests. Video games is one of those things, but sometimes it's embarrassing for me to talk about it because people find it weird. Like because of inconsistent and weak electricity, I don't have a ps5 or ps4 or anything. I mostly play more retro handheld stuff that can be charged.

I usually tell people I just like to play retro 3ds games with little explanation. When I explain that consoles are expensive in my country and that I don't have good access to sufficient electricity, forcing me to play on older handhelds, I feel like they start to think I'm weird and distance themselves from me. There are similar embarrassing things when it comes to my work, etc.

Sorry for ranting, I just have been feeling very frustrated recently. I feel like more people are starting to ghost me when I open up to them, it makes me feel bad.

Honestly I am the same but for Europeans. Americans are cool too, but I feel everyone knows what America is like.
When someone says they are from Norway, Poland, those kinds of countries, I feel very interested and want to learn more.

Learning about unfamiliar countries and what they are like is something I really enjoy.
