>It is embarrassing to explain that I don't have running water or that I live in a place where not everyone is connected to the power.
Hmmm. Maybe it's a western thing. I live in a commie country and my grandpa tells me stories of how his father first got running water, or how he installed the first light bulb in their house, or put a toilet inside the house.
>Like because of inconsistent and weak electricity
I heard that's happening in SA! But battery technology is advancing really fast, have you looked into that?
>Sorry for ranting, I just have been feeling very frustrated recently.
I hope you can find a way to leave... You've got nothing to be ashamed of and trust me, even in Europe there are lots of people who can't afford consoles and just play old games on a shitty laptop.
>When someone says they are from Norway, Poland, those kinds of countries, I feel very interested and want to learn more.
I love my country and I'd love to have a foreign friend and show them our fauna and flora and fungi and compare to theirs!

>I really like cooking and eating food, but I eat a lot of local stuff. I love hearing about foreign food from more obscure countries that I am unfamiliar with while I share my own.
I am like that as well! A year ago I talked to a mexican couple on 4chan, they told me about tomatillos, and I bought seeds and grew them in our climate and made salsa verde from them. There's always more plants and more fruits to learn, and a lot of them you simply cannot buy in a store because they are perishable, or there's not a big market for them.
I really like trying new things. A few days ago I found, baked and eaten sweet chestnuts for the first time- they don't grow here naturally so I had to find a planted tree.
What's your favourite fruit/veggie from your homeland?
