I met some really cool supernerd university professors (history, art, literature, french language) during the after-service coffee hour at working-class Eastern Orthodox church. Heard them talking about Dune and I slipped right in there. Now we are buds every Sunday for 75 minutes. Doesn't seem like much but it does serve as valuable reminder that I'm not totally broken, there are some humans with compatible intellects and senses of humor, and you never know where you might find them.
