>if I ever get my own place and enough money to mess around with then I'm gonna make really durable stuff.
hah, yeah thats what i thought, i made some small furniture from wood rather than go to ikea, but bottom line was it cost more, was a lot of fking effort since i dont have the tools to make it easy, and it really has that rustic homemade feel i wasnt going for.. the wood looks cheap as well, cause it was cheap wood i suppose, nice wood is pricey man.. you know those resin tables etc you see online sometimes? fuck dude you can furnish your house with thrifts for the cost of the resin alone.. i decided the only thing im gonna make is a rietveld chair, and when i move into a proper place i'll make a shelf wall with nice wood, hate it but im not in the economic bracket to do this shit like i want
>We have chanterelles and stuff but I've never seen them. Just poisonous mushrooms and one time a cool coral fungus. Tiny thing.
getting a field guide for your locale helps a lot, with local foraging tips, i generally dont pick anything to eat
>You're telling me you have access to some nice equipment, huh?
hah, well, yes and no, im in healthcare so i cant really fuck around, the only thing i can freely use is the electron microscope, but its from the fking 80s and takes 6 hours to cool down to usable levels, and we're not allowed to leave it overnight.. i dont have much use for mass spectrometry or gas chromatography personally lol what are you thinking? salt mixtures?
>a giant amoeba
record scratch, yeahhh im not fking with amoeba lmao, they are fking cool, but literally my first week at work we had samples from someone who lost his eyesight cause of some african amoeba, savage
you know you got me wondering how you became interested in these things, its quite refreshing
was going to post a cool mushroom pic, but i came across this, no clue what it was but it was an old contaminated plate
