You're missing the point. People directly made the argument "they're born that way" in place of "they're not hurting anyone" even though it was obviously bullshit logic. People just fish for catchy arguments for the conclusions they already reached.
Also I think antisocial behavior is pretty well normalized and rewarded in society. It's only the Jeffrey Dahmer types that get punished and they're extremely rare.
