Breaking the skin lets the blood out which is nice. Maybe they're not into getting hurt? Pain gets people weird sometimes. Vampires are inherently sexy though you'd think people would be more onboard with that.
Yeah it'll be hard, but sometimes you can be surprised by how well someone fits with you when you weren't expecting them to. Just keep trying, all anyone can do really.
