I mean, I have female friends who actually listen to the bands they claim to like/represent on the clothing they wear.

Someone who claims a fashion/aesthetic/culture/music taste in a Vulcan death grip like they were spurned out the wet hole within that particular zeitgeist, yet do not put forth any effort to actually respect or enjoy said so and so forth, comes off as a tryhard and a dishonest person.

So it isn't bad if a woman wearing a Nirvana shirt doesn't know every song or album or Kurt Cobain's underwear color. But it is an ick if she wholeheartedly tries so hard to come off as a fan of something yet knows nothing about it. Again, it looks dishonest.
