Like that's all that matters. I may not have to work as much as today, but I might die of various diseases, get killed by the baron, invading army, wild animal, maybe just some fucking road robbers. It would still SUCK to be a fucking peasant. But I agree, life might have seemed more beautiful, since it was so fleeting back then. The only thing you would care about, is your own crops and immediate friends/family. Not worldwide morality.
