Many animals rape as a mating practice, it's not unique to humans or apes. One of the things that makes humans so special is our ability to surpass sex as our primary motivator and bear witness to life and conciousness as a gift. To me, human conciousness is the single most precious "thing" on the planet, and we owe it to all other humans the freedom to live their lives to the best of their ability free from violence or trauma.

I am more informed and sensitive about this topic because of my own personal history as a multi-time victim. My perspective is unique, percieving sexual violence as an inherent trait of humanity that we must work very hard to overcome.
