Personal risks of 10% are negligible and dont matter. Because I said so. I have genetic 8% of diabetes and I dont give a fuck. Similar thing here. No one cares about something happening to them if its just 10% chance in their lifetime. Its not consequential enough
And as I said, that just naturalistic chances, modern medicine allows you to prevent all this shit. Aside from abortions, people can do actual complicated surgeries on fetuses nowadays, like separating smushed limbs and changing location of displaced developing organs. Remember how we had downie epidemic until one day it just stopped being a theme? Well I remember
>Except it isn't, why are more and more people hopping on anti-depressants?
Its really easy. Because they can. Antidepressants are just more effective alcohol. People consume drugs because if you can erase all worries, why wouldn't you do that? Its a cheatcode to life.
One thing that really fascinates me about it all... You know how there are vids on youtube analysing a huge variety of personal childhood traumas and how peoples parents should have been better and such. They are funny to me, because never in history were parents actually proper and unconditionally loving or in perfect control of their emotions. Parents are humans after all. But all those videos paint absolutely normal childhood as extremely traumatic and life ruining. Meanwhile their ancestors developed just fine with even colder parents, that considered regular beating of their kids a spiritual necessity. People are just that coddled, they never develop a spine and prefer being eternal victims of everything.
Taking antidepressants is just a result of this coddling, even smallest inconvenience makes those people lose their crap and they want an escape from their own weak self.
>And look where that has gotten us. Now kids are raised via Coco Melon and Tik Tok.
Not a direct consequence. Modern times have issues, but its not people having free time and hobbies.
