Plenty of other planets have eclipses, many of them much cooler than ours in some regards. Charon, for example, has over eight times the apparent diameter of our Moon, which means it would completely block *all* light from the Sun, not just the photosphere. And because of the larger angular size in combination with the much slower angular rotation of Charon and Pluto about their center of mass, totality would last for a little over ~100 minutes instead of 3-4.
