Democrats became the internationalists after Trump took over the Republicans, and the CIA was pressuring social media to extralegally bypass the first amendment. When Elon bought twitter for free speech he fucked up something that represented a monumental amount of effort and money in that a single free speech platform makes all the controlled ones useless. It doesn't matter how good he is for strategic domestic industries, because it was the internationalists he pissed off and they don't care about America outside of the power it allows them to wield. The fact that they're using the Democrats as the attack vector is coincidence and the side brained social issues and whatnot are an incidental distraction.
I thought Elon was aware of this went he went for USAID's jugular, as you can trace a straight path from them to the Brazilian judge that froze Starlink's assets to pressure Twitter to delete anti-gov posts, but now I'm not so sure anything he does is that tactical.
