Was Ampere ever vindicated? His theory of electrodynamics does without introducing fields which imo is a huge pro, but something is definitely lacking otherwise I'm sure his theory would have superseded Maxwell's. A quick glance at the wiki says the theory can't account for relativistic phenomena, so what gives? Pic absolutely not related
