To convict it must be beyond a reasonable doubt.
"Justified true belief" is a cop out excuse to avoid perjury charges when the evidence does not line up with testimony. If judges operated on "justified true belief" they can simply ignore all evidence and the process of the trial and adjudicate based upon their personal whims.
