A Dodger Boycott

Don’t tell me sports teams shouldn’t speak on politics.

Over the past few weeks, with ICE raids and troops flooding our city, I can’t help but feel disappointed by the Dodgers’ silence on immigration. This is happening right here—at home, in Los Angeles—yet the team had no problem taking a stance on the conflict in Israel, thousands of miles away.

When it comes to issues in their own backyard, in the city of Angels, they’ve stayed quiet. They let the LAnd get trampled.

This is the same franchise that gave Jackie Robinson a platform to make history. With all the star power on this roster, the team somehow feels weaker than ever.

That’s why I’m boycotting the Dodgers. Ever since the raids began, watching them brings no joy. It feels like a chore to root for a team that treats us like nothing more than a paycheck.
