He gets the hate for being a scumbag rather than getting blamed for their deaths. He wouldn't have even been part of the story if he didn't record it.
From memory he had a history of just blasting it down the road completely disregarding the speed limit, so shouldn't have been allowed to drive on the road to begin with desu.

Also recall a story of him trashing his own house when the house next door was for sale to tank their price. He ended up buying it for cheap.
