Darnold's ceiling is a first round playoff exit, maybe a divisional loss. I should've put money on the game vs. the Rams because never have I so accurately predicted exactly how the game would. He's solid enough to consistently win you regular season games, but everyone knows that the lights are too bright for him when the stakes are high. There's no guarantee that McSharty is better than Darnold, but it makes sense that they'd try to develop someone with more potential (on paper) vs. a "finished" player.
