It's not that cops don't racially profile because they do, but the question why that's morally wrong if there are statistically significant differences in crime rates among different ethnic groups. If your job is to stop crimes and all statistical evidence and your own experience tell you that black people are far more likely to commit crimes than the average white guy, who are you going to pay more attention to?
And it's especially bullshit because like 90% of the cases where they're screeching about "profiling" turn out to just be people getting caught committing stupid and obvious crimes and the black community having an irrational tolerance for armed robbery, assault, vandalism, etc. The argument seems to be "even if someone's clearly guilty, you have to let them off the hook anyway because you already arrested your maximum number of black people this month."
