I'll make this my last post on in then.
It's in the interest of both teams that they're able to improve their lists without compromising the other which is why I don't like the idea of a temporary rule change that only benefits the Eagles in a free agency situation. Well run clubs plan their moves out a year or more in advance and changing the rules on the fly isn't fair.
They should just give the Eagles priority picks like they gave the Roos: you trade the picks for a player or you lose them. That way should Starcevich decide he wants to go to the Eagles they can keep their pick 2, get Starcevich and Lions aren't screwed over and likely on trade the picks to some other club, possibly Essendon.
It also means should Starcevich decide he wants to stay at the Lions then Eagles still have the pick/s to trade for another player.
