Yeah, not just Homo sapiens though there’s extensive archeological evidence of cannibalism in sites that hosted all homo and pre-homo hominids. It’s incredibly common to find human bones with cutting and butchering marks and/or in the garbage dump area with the rest of the animal bones and food waste etc… Cannibalism can be categorized into distinct forms. Dietary/starvation cannibalism, ritual cannibalism, cannibalism as a method of warfare, etc… Human and pre-human hominids engaged in all of of them, and it’s likely that cannibalism in the stone age was as common as inter-tribal conflict or starvation was.
