Being pro-immigration is a core tenant of both the liberal and Labor party as is being anti-racist. With the amount of Indians here and the amount that will come in the next few years (it will be a LOT) both major parties NEED to court votes from indians/immigrants.
Having a prominent member of your party complain about one specific group comes off as racist, even if they are aboriginal, and severely damages the brand and trust for your party in immigrant groups. Which means you can just say goodbye to most future elections if you turn the entire indian block away.
