It's funny how salary caps became an issue with Geelong.
Seems to be a common theme over the past 10 years because there hasn't been anything like the monstrous midfields of the 00s for so long now. They always have 2 A graders and others, not 3-6 A graders. That hasn't happened since 2010ish. In fact, most midfields have been pretty average since then, even Hawthorn of the 10s, though I think their new squad might become solid in the midfield. I think it's because zones post Neil Craig became so dominant that they rendered A grade midfields somewhat redundant until maybe recently. Craig's zone used to decimate WC 05/06 at times and I think most teams adopted that sort of thing after him. Though the superflood started that. We used to called Craig's zoning strat a "flood" though it really wasn't a flood and was more of a zone strat. Used to cause WC huge headaches because Woosha is small brain and can't coach for shit, kek.
