>private trackers are a meme unless you really want some hyper specific stuff that really isnt found elsewhere, but basically everything is found on public torrent sites, forums and DHT crawlers like btdig.com
As a prolific /t/ request filler/uploader I can tell you this just isn't the case. On public trackers you face many issues getting the content you want. If you want the most popular Adult Swim show, Rick and Morty, you will probably have no problem at all finding it and everything related to it on public trackers. But in the cartoon thread someone requested a less popular Adult Swim show, Royal Crackers. They complained that a couple of the episodes on public trackers had no seeds and requested complete season sets instead. Since I'm on BTN I was able to download both seasons and compile them into a single torrent then post them. Big public torrent sites, like rarbg and torrentgalaxy, keep dying. When they go down their bots that pull content from private trackers and share them to the public automatically go too. Many public torrent sites don't allow anybody who wants to to upload, really we're just left with thepiratebay as far as that goes. So torrents die and there's nobody to make new ones. That's why I download things from private trackers, make new torrents from them, and share them with people here. I'm sure a lot of the anons who are asking for things would be happier if they could access the same trackers I have themselves but it's really fucking hard to join. You need to take an interview to prove you understand audio codecs and encoding, upload a bunch of music ripped from streaming services, then wait two whole years if you want any hope of joining the best private trackers. Is that really worth it for people if they just can't check one or two things off their list of what they're looking for? I try to help them so they don't need to go through all that but as long as people on public trackers don't fucking seed it won't ever stop.
