Honestly it isn't, Eldar being specifically capable of using warp energy to create waithbone while also taking material from the physical plane is not really a retcon. I think it's more headcannon that it's directly summoned from the warp vs it being a composite that was grown and shaped by the singers and augmented by the energies of the warp.
