The stillborn are classic Grey aliens, who the Curators conquered the season before Earth, then added as a playable race, even though they're smart enough to keep fucking with the curators system. precursor tech I think refers to the Grey tech, which even though they lost was in some ways more advanced than the Curator crystal Tech. Dons seems to have both so the Grey precursor tech cancels out the nadir crystal maybe? Or just makes it take longer to work?
