Electricity is usually charged at 9 baht or 0.30 USD per kWh for the listings I saw. And those cheap rooms are never shaded, so they bake in the 34 C sun. If you want the interior temp to stay at 24 C, you're gonna burn through a LOT of juice.

Most Thai rooms are very clean and constructed to a good standard of quality. You might have a hard time getting the deposit back at some of those properties, especially if you're a piggish foreigner who wears his shoes indoors and eats take-out meals in the room (roach bait).
