>long days of sun
This is something I found really weird about Australia. The summer sunset at like 5:30 pm in summer in Brisbane but the sunrise is at 4:30 am. In the US they adjusted things to have sunsets later, Jacksonville FL is roughly the same distance from the equator and the sunset in June is at 8:30 pm and the sunrise well after 6 am. I live in California the sunset is 8 pm in the middle of summer, and in Seattle it's almost 10 pm, a winter sunset is like 5 here. It made the country feel boring especially since most things closed much earlier than they do in the US.
