The world objectively went to shit in 2007. There were occasional massive downward spikes during the boomer and gen x years, but 2007 was a straight down spiral we've never recovered from, where the mask fell off and every trend from mass immigration to corporate oligarchism to tech zombification that we'd been slowly getting boiled in suddenly spilt over all in one horrible wave and by the time the smoke cleared in 2009 we were 100% full on clown world.
Anyone nostalgic for post 2007 years is obviously a zoomie or aspie who wasn't alive to experience the very last few years the world was normal and didn't seem like it was stuck in an unceasing decline. I can't even watch pre-2007 media anymore because it's too painful seeing a normal world and remembering what it was like before this unending dark age was thrown on us.
