That tweet fails to consider the lack of buying power a zoomer with a part time job has compared to when most of us (millennials I'm guessing) were in high school. With a part time job kids in the 00s could pay their own phone/car bills, save and buy their own electronics, go out to movies/dinner with their friends whenever they felt like.
Cultivating a social life online is much cheaper. I'm surprised there hasn't been a teen romcom about traveling across the country to fuck a girl you met on Twitter or something.
