Just finished it, I'm glad Joaquin still enjoys starring as The Raped but this just felt like a step down from Beau Is Afraid.
The editing was schizophrenic, every time the tone took a shift I was just thinking "oh, okay..?"
COVID stuff was bound to happen eventually but it's weird to see it portrayed pretty neutrally here when it stops being a plot point after the first act. Felt like there were way too many ideas in the pot and Aster had to keep awkwardly changing gear to keep things engaging.
Genuinely laughed out loud at the "Firework" scene, the music is timed so perfectly for him to fight back and he just slinks away like a bitch
