its been a while since I watched a serious man. It did feel like the movie is being slightly blibical at times. Like the homeless guy is almost a blight on the town but not really. He clearly needs help but nobody knows how to help him, so this guy is almost like a prophet, as a rambling lunatic. Also like >>213811250
Feels like they erected a false idol. The screens show people scrolling through the net worshipping false idols. Somebody even mentioned that it looked like a demonic deity. Joe Cross is between being a good guy and a bad guy. At the beginning in the store. He helps with his wife's only hobby. He wants kids. I still feel like the homeless guy released on the town as the first sign of a plague and an instigation by people running the show.
Also can my thoughts about that final shot: was the data center progress for Eddington? Or was it really another excuse to hide a data harvesting site? It was built far away from the town. It might have opened jobs for the town. In some years, like most cities affected by a new Amazon warehouse or tech expansion (or casino lmao) it does open new jobs. Eventually new houses and stores and buildings might grow the town. Or is it a monument to the victors and a sign of evil? Is it a warning to be wary of these types of sites?
