i agree. but even with weed theres a difference, sativa, indica. i recently quit smoking for like 2 years, felt good about it, no bitterness "fuck stoners" but also no "maaan i miss weed" i was content without it. but i wouldnt go out of my way to effort post or be creative or get enthralled and deeply invested in things as much, whether that was inventing some new idea, effort posting on 4chan, or just closing my eyes and really listening to a song in my recliner. i started smoking again and that all comes naturally to me again, the desire and will to flex the creative muscle. the relaxation parts that come from weed, come from alcohol too. but the brain stimulating cerebral part of weed is missing, and if thats the case, then all its doing is dumbing you down because all drugs are poison to an extent.
