Really? He seemed almost comically intense this episode. His acting is as if he's already in post-crash vengeance mode when he's barely even aware of anything wrong. He was acting the same way to his fellow crewmates as he was to the prodigy guys he tied up and got killed
The scene with the photos of his daughter kind of existed in a vacuum and I felt they just stuck that in there so the audience doesn't actually think he's evil
