Season premiere:
>Apparently Gorn civilization is based on optics and light, they communicate and even have their life cycle governed by such things
>Except for ships, when it's a ship they dont use visual data at all
I could go on and on but the details of the technobabble were offensively stupid and after building up Gorn to be INSANELY dangerous 5 derps with scavenged guns were able to fight a massive 100+ Gorn swarm and not have any casualties.
Episode 2:
>It's a romance episode
>They're doing the "Vacation Boyfriend" plot
>They're forcing even more romance, introduced Ortega's brother who immediately falls for Uhura
>The entire episode was just an excuse to do funny RomCom stuff and then they handwave it all suddenly at the end with Q
>Apparently Q have a homeworld AND can be beaten by the "power of love"
Episode 1 treated me like a retard and Episode 2 wasn't fucking Star Trek and commited lore vandalism.
