There were aspects and concepts I didn't hate. The problem is it depends how much particular shit bothers you, and there's no shortage of aspects there to bother most people.
The movie reminds me in many ways of that shitty movie 'Transcendence' (2014) where Johnny Depp becomes some kind of uber-envirofag computer while Morgan Freeman spews absolute pseud nonsense.
Likewise, Tron Ares is desperately trying to be deep but is shallow as birdbath. It's trying to be intellectual but is as intelligent as a plebbitor's tweet about a TED talk. It's a bunch of miscast actors regurgitating the secondhand huffed farts of writers who are up their own arses. It's just pathetic and gets worse the more you think about it, but you don't really, because it's also a movie you can barely remember the details of the second it finishes.
Some of the spergy hate and nitpicking might seem to go too far, but it's not invalid. Much like 'The Last Jedi', (which this also reminds me of - with go-nowhere shit nobody cares about, like the dead Chink sister), I didn't hate every aspect of it. The salt planet didn't bother me in concept and the red-on-white visual for the battle could have been cool, but those vehicles were fucking ridiculous, pointless, and the whole scene culminated in the worst donkey dick sucking bullshit I've ever seen. The more you think about that film the less sense it makes, and it's an insult to your intelligence. I wouldn't even say Ares was as bad as TLJ but reminding me of it is not a good thing that's for fucking sure.
I can see the movie concept that someone had in mind before it got tokenised, wokenised, and Leto'd to death. That's why it wouldn't be implausible to rewrite it. It's a tall order, but you conceivably rewrite Transcendence so it didn't suck so hard on its own arsehole. TLJ is unsalvageable dreck, at best you could take a concept or two and put them in entirely different film.
