i disagree with you actually. while she is definitely evil and can be argued to have been responsible for his death, I think it has been shown throughout the show that Bajorans are so fucking brainwashed in their religion that Bariel unironically wanted to die in the horrific way he did based on the whim of some fake pope. there's another episode later where some faker says he's the Emissary and that everyone has to go back to a caste system and even Kira goes along with it instantly
