nothing like that but there is an interesting thing they bring up about the rift between him and his family (and other freighter people) because they feel like joining Starfleet is abandoning their way of life to be some kind of "big shot" and there's resentment towards it. there's one episode kinda about it but its never really expanded upon. which is fine because Travis' actor isn't very good anyway
