The 80s was the last decade with a really distinctive visual aesthetic, while also being the first decade to look recognizably modern from a 21st century vantage point. Everything from the late 90s to the present has looked kind of similar, so while you can have 90s nostalgia or 2000s nostalgia you can't as easily turn those decades into instantly visually recognizable brands. That's why 80s nostalgia will always be with us, it's just really easy to package and sell.
